This article discusses the various types of cross tattoo and what each of them represents.

Cross tattoos are a very popular type of tattoo design with both men and women nowadays. They convey a very strong message and have great meaning to the person who wears the tattoo. So what are the different types of cross tattoo and what do they represent?

cross tattoo designWell cross tattoos are mainly associated with religion, as you might expect, and are very closely associated with the Christian religion in particular. Many Christians are deeply proud and passionate about their religion and a cross tattoo for many is the perfect way to convey their strong belief in the Christian religion, and their love and respect for Jesus Christ and God because the Christian cross symbolises Jesus Christ returning from the dead.

There are various different types of Christian cross. There is the basic latin cross which just consists of two intersecting lines, then there is the crucifix which depicts Jesus Christ on a wooden cross. In addition other variations of the Christian cross include ones covered in thorns or nails.

Away from the traditional Christian cross, you’ve got the very popular Celtic cross. This tattoo design combines the latin cross with a circle to create an attractive looking design. These tattoos are also very popular with Christians but are also very popular with many people who have deep Celtic connections in their family history, as they are a great way to honour their Celtic heritage.

Another form of cross tattoo and one that is growing in popularity is the memorial cross. Memorial cross tattoos are very popular with those people who have lost loved ones and want to have a permanent memorial of them with them at all times. Made in the shape of a gravestone, these tattoos are very poignant and deeply moving, and with suitable words added to the tattoo are an excellent way to remember those who have sadly passed away.

Finally the other common type of cross tattoo is the Gothic cross. Goth people are not necessarily religious people but they do still like to use religious imagery in their tattoo designs. These designs are German in style and are often deep-set tattoos that consist of a cross together with barbed wire and daggers.

So overall there are many different types of cross tattoo available. These tattoos have always been popular, and will probably remain so in the future, largely due to their powerful symbolism and striking imagery. They have deep religious meaning but they also convey a respect of spirituality for non-religious people so cross tattoos are a very versatile type of tattoo design.

Where Can You Find Your Perfect Tattoo Design?

This article describes various resources you can use to find your dream tattoo design.

Many people are looking to get a tattoo done nowadays but the major problem that a lot of these people have, particularly first-timers, is that they don’t know where to go to find their dream tattoo design. A tattoo is for life so it’s imperative you choose one that is the perfect choice for you.

Tattoo designs of stars like BeckhamThe most obvious place to go is your local tattoo parlor, ie the place where you will be having the tattoo done. They will have various brochures full of pictures and photos of lots of different tattoo designs that you can choose from. This is where a lot of people go to find inspiration for a cool tattoo design and to eventually select one they like.

The only problem with selecting a tattoo design this way is that it’s hard to fully relax when you’re at your local tattoo parlour browsing through thousands of different designs. It’s a decision that requires plenty of time and consideration which is why I don’t really recommend trying to find your dream tattoo at your local tattoo parlor.

A much better alternative is to buy a book of tattoo designs at your local bookstore, or visit your local library and get a couple of books out that you can browse in your own time. Then once you find a design that you like you can take it along to your local tattoo parlor and ask them if they can recreate it for you.

Also in this technology age that we are living in, you can now browse through thousands of different tattoo designs on the internet. Just open up your preferred search engine, type in ‘tattoo designs’ or ‘tattoo design ideas’, for example, and you will come across an endless number of websites filled with designs in all different categories.

The only trouble with a lot of these websites is that a lot of them are free websites which means that the tattoo designs displayed are quite common and found on a number of other websites as well so they are not exactly the most creative or unique tattoo designs. Many other people will have used these same websites to find their perfect tattoo design so lots of people will be walking around with the same tattoo designs on their body.

A better alternative is to join one of the premium online tattoo galleries. These often charge a small one-off membership fee but this is very often a great deal because you can then browse thousands of tattoo designs and print out as many different designs as you like before taking the one you want to your local tattoo artist who can then reproduce it for you.

The tattoo designs found on these sites are generally much better quality than those found on the free sites because they have been submitted by some of the best tattoo artists from around the world. Indeed the designs are often so good that many tattoo parlours subscribe to these sites so they can offer their customers the very best tattoo designs.

So overall there are many different ways you can find your perfect tattoo design. You can visit your local tattoo parlour or your local bookstore or library, or you can go online and browse the many websites, particularly the paid ones, that display thousands of top quality tattoo designs.

A tattoo and the design, in my opinion is an extremely personnel thing, getting marked on the body is not something you should do lightly. I have seen dozens of people go out, get a tattoo on a whim, and live to regret it.  In all honesty, most tattooists although most are highly skilled artists lack the passion to come up with something new and exiting for every customer.  they fall back to the same set of flash books they have had for years producing the same old tats year in year out.  Unless your tattooist is truly in the top ten percent for passion for the art it’s going to be down to you buddy, to find the artwork

Getting the perfect tattoos can be a painful process and I am not just talking about being inked.  All the searching, the hassle of it all going from one tattoo place to another looking at their flash books and not seeing anything you like. Then you do the UNTHINKABLE you settle for something that’s not quite right but you have that second rate tat anyway.

Your sitting there in the tattoo chair he’s starting up his gun and your looking at the transfer in the mirror and the brains saying " I’m not sure" but what do you do? you ignore it that inner voice.  You numb skull!

Flower Tattoo Designs – Flower Tattoos

From roses to daffodils to daisies – each flower has its own meaning – making flower tattoos very popular.

The art of tattooing, which has its origins in most ancient cultures of the world, is witnessing a resurgence of late. While in the recent past soldiers, sailors, and members of youth subcultures were the only people who sported tattoos, these days it’s just as likely that the girl or boy next door will have one as any punk rock musician.

While there are practically endless designs that abound in the tattoo world, one of the most enduring ones are flowers. Flowers, in all their myriad diversity and color – yellow, pink, red, purple, blue – have always held a special place in our hearts. We have used them through the ages in our religious customs, to decorate our bodies and our homes, and to give to other people as an expression of our love and affection. Hence, it is not surprising that flower tattoos have been in use almost as long as tattooing as an art has been in existence.

Lotus Flower Tattoo DesignOf course, when people choose tattoo designs, they primarily want to express their own unique individuality. Tattoo artists understand this need and have been creating endless varieties of flower tattoo designs, so much so, that you will find even the common rose in innumerable sizes, shapes and depictions. The choices also become practically endless if the flower tattoo design is combined with other tattoo designs like butterflies, hearts, or fairies, to create a tattoo quite unlike any other. For example, a feminine armband tattoo can be created by designing a vine made up of roses and exotic orchids, interwoven with water lilies, leaves, and little fairies. For males, flower tattoos can be created using the geometrical and symmetrical patterns of either the Celtic style or tribal artwork.

Apart from their beauty, flower tattoos also connect us to the natural world, because flowers symbolize fertility, procreation, death, and rebirth – the endless cycle of life. Plus, the various colors of flowers used in tattoos also are symbolic of different things. For example, the color red can mean passion, while a white flower signifies purity. Given below are a few popular flowers that are chosen as tattoo designs, along with what they symbolize:

Rose: The rose has always held a special place in our hearts, hence it is no surprise that it is one of the most popular subjects for tattoos. While each type of rose may signify different things to different people, however, over time each type of rose has been associated with certain traditional meanings, making the rose one of the most eloquent flowers. White roses convey simplicity and charm; Pink roses whisper of clandestine love; Yellow roses, rather morosely, communicate the waning of love, or warn of jealousy, or to let bygones be bygones; Rosebuds portray innocence and youth; and Red roses, of course, are the eternal symbol of love and passion.

Lily: There is a fascinating divergence in the significance of each type of lily. The calla lily bespeaks beauty and maidenly modesty; Frog lilies depict disgust; The water lily is a sign of the purity of the heart; The day lily signifies coquetry; The yellow lily portrays flirtatiousness and coquetry; The white lily, sweetness and purity; And the tiger lily urgently whispers a challenge to be loved.

Hibiscus: This beautiful flower is said to originally have come from southern China, which then was taken to the Pacific Islands, and found its way to the United States in 1842. The hibiscus symbolizes delicate beauty.

Lotus: Having its origins in India and Egypt, this flower is inextricably entwined with the religious customs, legends and myths of these ancient cultures. A lotus tattoo symbolizes enlightenment, peace, fortune, goodness, and beauty. In the West, it also represents estranged love along with the yearning it implies.

Daisy: Generally, daisies symbolize innocence, although the various types of daisies are associated with their own unique significance. For example, the Michaelmas daisy is used for bidding farewell; Colored daisies depict beauty; The white daisy that grows in the wild whispers about thinking about matters.

Daffodil: This flower, over time, has come to mean a wide variety of meanings, some of which are: unrequited love, hope, deceitfulness, and even regard.

Sunflower: According to ancient Greek legend, it is said that Clytia, who was a lovely water sprite, fell hopelessly in love with Apollo, the sun deity. Clytia stood tall and straight for nine days, in admiration of her love and hoping for his attention. But Apollo did not notice Clytia, hence she was transformed into the sunflower, which continues to have her face upturned towards the Sun God, following him as he crosses the firmament. Thus, the sunflower depicts the splendor of ardor.

Of course, there are many, many more flowers, each with different meanings. When you get a flower tattoo, it can either be as bold and large as you want it to be or dainty and small. Irrespective of the flower tattoo you choose, whether a lotus, a daffodil, or a rose, it will signify something special and unique about you.

Different Tattoos for any tribe, and so you can see immediately who was a member of your tribe, and who is not. Even now, these tattoos are popular between people who are part of the same group.
